In the 'Flow' - Connecting with real magic

Connecting with real magic

There is a state of being where every moment seems like a magical 'clicking into place' of the universe. It's as if you dissolve into a macrocosmic wider 'flow', the sole purpose of which is to illuminate to us how to be our highest self.

Maybe you've experienced it too. Moments when 'coincidences' stack up to a point where they just can't be coincidences any more. You have the feeling of being in the right place at the right time, even if you can't know what the outcome will be.

It's all about letting go of an attachment to a particular outcome. You have to know that the universe is on your side, even if the outcome doesn't seem to be the one you wanted. Here's an example:

I just came back from a lovely Conscious Intimacy retreat call The Cocoon in Crete, Greece where I gave three workshops. The final workshop was a 'Conscious Check-In' where people could come to process whatever was inside of them in a group setting. I didn't know how many people would come, so I just waited... and waited. Finally, someone came and sat down. Then 3 people came in separately, all asking if this was the Spinal Bliss workshop - "It isn't", I told them. Finally, my one participant also left, stating understandably, that he wanted to go to a workshop with more people.

So, I was left sat in a workshop I'd lovingly created the space for, with no participants. I went and sat outside. A brief niggle of disappointment was quickly replaced with the question, "why did I create this?". It would have been easy to go into a mind-based story such as 'nobody wants what I offer'. However, this is highly limiting at a certain point in the journey (once you've dealt with the underlying wound behind such a story). Instead, I knew that this could be a great opportunity for soul growth and tend to orientate myself to this rather than mind-led stories. The answer wasn't immediately obvious.

At this point I've found it's really important to stay open to see what the flow (felt as a heart-felt pull) wants of me now. It could be that a chance encounter somewhere else leads to a great revelation of being. For this, it's important to keep the crown chakra open, to be open to the unknown and trusting that authentic expression will always lead to right outcome. That way it's easier to pick up the natural flow and see the bigger picture in it all.

This was to be my lesson - a full integration of this philosophy and practice in keeping the crown open.

No sooner had I surrendered, than a lady approached me, "Is this workshop still happening?"

"I can't give a workshop with no participants", I replied. "However, I have a free room now if you want to have an individual 1-1 session with me." She accepted, and what followed was a very powerful session.

Not only that, but as soon we walked out of the room almost an hour later, two more people approached the studio. "Sorry we're late. Is it still possible to enter the workshop?"

"No, but you've come at the right time. I'm now available for 1-1 sessions"

I gave them both individual sessions which also went deep. I ended up leaving the space at the exact time my workshop would have finished.

There was a tremendous feeling of 'rightness' to what had taken place. Not the outcome I had expected or planned for. Instead, the one that was needed. I felt hugely lifted, expanded by it all and returned to my room with a smile on my face.

I had many more moments like this during the retreat week. Knowings coming to 'go here' or 'do this' not knowing why - they all lead to amazing encounters, conversations or some kind of creative expression forming.

So, what are the keys to entering this state?

  1. Realise that moments like this happen for you, not to you. The universe simple 'wants' to illuminate how you can be more you. Trust in this and you will experience profoundly magical moments.

  2. Let go of any of the stories your mind creates - The human mind cannot fathom the higher flow that is taking place. There's no need to create stories like 'I'm not good enough', or 'they don't want me'.

  3. Orientate yourself not to achieving an outcome, but rather being your authentic self in each moment. This leads to right outcome. Even if it's not the one you wanted, it's the one you needed.

  4. Embrace the unknown - This bypasses mind-led choice and connects you in to the higher flow through the crown chakra.

  5. Look for the feeling of 'rightness' - moments that feel divinely aligned, where magic seems to be in the air.

  6. Celebrate with a smile (or a dance) - this builds momentum and reinforces this way of orientating yourself to life.

P.s. Here's a Mandala I drew in the sand on my final day in Greece (a 'Sandala?) I trust it brings what it needs to.
